Frequently asked questions
The wait time for a walk-in clinic consultation is 1 to 2 days if you are in a major city. In rural areas, it may take longer to get an appointment due to limited walk-in clinic space. Doctr’s Care Coordination Service can book you an appointment at a walk-in clinic.
Once you have an appointment, you may wait up to an hour in the waiting room at the clinic.
There are some areas that are not covered. To find out if your area is covered, click here.
We use your location, travel distance, availability, and thousands of reviews from other users to select the best possible walk-in clinic.
Your care coordinator will begin working on your application. You’ll receive a communication when your care coordinator has started as well as frequent updates on their progress. If you have any questions, you can always chat with the team via the Doctr mobile app chat.
It happens! We’ll find you another appointment if you have the individual or family plan. It’s important to contact your care coordinator at least 24 hours in advance to cancel an appointment. You also have the option to cancel the appointment yourself by contacting the clinic directly. However, fees may be charged to the client for lateness, no-shows, or cancellations.
For the walk-in plan, the service stops once an appointment is found.
In the past, you had to arrive early and wait in line (even in winter!) to get a spot at a walk-in clinic. Now, clinics open their appointments the day before, and patients can book appointments online for the next day. Despite this new way of operating, they are still called walk-in clinics in Quebec.
The most popular platform is the government’s Rendez-Vous Santé Québec (RVSQ). This platform is reserved for people with a valid RAMQ card.
Some walk-in clinics offer walk-in spots only for their registered patients.
Some clinics have more capacity and are open every day. They are called Super Clinics.
Doctr can help you get a spot at a walk-in clinic.
